7.10.09: Submitted proposed contract.
7.13.09: Contract approved, deposit received, project begun. Phase one - Creative Development.
7.21.09: Finished Creative Development for the site - submitted for review.
7.23-25.09: Made corrections to the creative development for the site per requests. Phase two - Interface Development: Sliced the site, created MAIN page with rollover states for the TopNav, SUB page with extendable (vert) page - this will be used for BLog, Menu System, Locations (results), and any other page that requires the length to go beyond visible fold. Tested site size, coloring and functionality in 3 browsers, 2 platforms - Mac (FF, Safari) and PC (FF, INet). Once settings were coordinated with Passport (for their computers) the site was approved to continue in development.
7.28-29.09: Updated current site to have all buttons active, with links for most of the buttons. Top Nav is working correctly. Nutrition Side bar, Franchise Side bar (link needs to be edited).
7.30.09: Edited graphics for ORDER ONLINE, created FLASH glistening animation. Created OPEN FOR LUNCH/OPEN LATE animation (stars movement/sun pulsing). Linked Passport Pizza LOGO to main site page (index.html). Edited CALL TO ORDER graphics, tightened up the letting of the text and numbers. Removed shadown on the BLUE border, to create a an easier, more clean scale for the side bars.
8.2.09: Began building the FLASH form for the email sign-up and validation. Extracted files from previous email sign-up to utilized proper code for this project. Pulled the document files for the nutrition and franchise opportunities. Edited small graphics to be used in the FLASH form for email sign-up. Pulled several sets of CSS for review, to find a good one to edit for this project. Final CSS is PPP.css and is a combination of several groups, and will be edited along the way to accommodate changes in the online design.
8.3.09: Added php script and email address validation for sign-up FLASH form portion of the header. ORDER ONLINE link has been added, now takes user to the online ordering section of the site. SPECIFIC HOURS have been added, on the page storehours.html, and these list the hours for stores other than the general store hours. Edited CALL TO ORDER graphic to give more breathing room on the text and phone number. Began the FLASH form buildling for the contact form and the careers (jobs/application) form. Addressed the "DID YOU KNOW" Marketing panels, sent email to Sue and Katie for these ideas. Created franchiseopps.html to link to the Franchise Side Bar. Created this Build Log. Created the scalable template page for the menu system page, locations and catering pages. Added BUILDLOG link to the index.html page (MAIN PAGE) so that users can direct link to the BLog instead of navigating by memory. I'll remove it once the site goes live.
//DURING THIS WEEK 8.4-8.09 We were working on the archival files for the flyer, then finishing the design for the flyer so that it could get to the printer by the beginning of the next week (8.10.09).//
8.10.09: Created the FLASH template scroll block for text on the site. Utilized this for the FRANCHISE OPPORTUNITIES text. Inserted the FLASH (franchTxt.swf) into the franchiseopps.html page. Will use this same text system for the NUTRITIONAL anaylsis on 8.11.09. Form for franchiseopps.html page will remain consistent even if user switches text. Also creating PDF for downloading so that the user will have the franchise information text in hand. That will be loaded and available 8.11.09. Also unzipped the store locator PHP and reveiwed system requirements for installation to the backend. Should be able to install the system 8.11.09 or 8.12.09 and begin configurations. Will need a complete listing of all stores, with full addresses for the completed configuration of the store locator (since we're including ALL stores, not just those in the online system).
8.11.09: Created and inserted the PDF for franchiseopps.html. The "DOWNLOAD FRANCHISE INFO" sheet is in the path /pdf/franchopps.pdf and can be viewed here. Franchise FORM will be constructed after discussion of what information is to be sent to the main office. Inserted and updated the NUTRITION page with the gluten free ingredients available from the stores. This page can be viewed at nutrition.html. Fixed discrepancy with EMAIL sign-up, as the email that was entered in the space was an ACTUAL VALID email address and threw NO errors if the user clicked GO. Made the text read ENTER EMAIL HERE, and now the text throws an error and the user is required to use a valid email address. Working on the MAIN ROTATING IMAGE section, selecting 5 images to rotate: Big Ben, Salads, Ribs, Gluten Free Pizza, and Pasta. Began creating the FLASH rotation animation for this main element. Worked on the FOOTER links, PPP.css for the footer links, rollover states for the css, and updated the index.html page to reflect those css changes.
8.12.09: Updates will be made intermittently during this change day. Most of the edits will be done in the late evening (after 9 pm) but there will be some noticeable nuances to some of the pages as I sure up the CSS for the site. I will be finishing the CSS edits for each of the footer pages. Continuing to work on the FLASH for the main rotating images. I'll be requesting information under the sections: ABOUT US, CATERING (for specific information - not just a menu), and for CONTACT US - will that be the STORES listings (county + store + phone) or just the HQ's information, etc? //NOTE: Edited from 8.10.09 - did NOT use a flash text based animation for the NUTRITION page. It was more efficient to create tables to space out the information correctly.// Update BLog for the entire project. **PM: Updated the downloadable files for the current site. Now existing files are MENU(2.9MB) and COUPON(1.8MB) which are respectable download sizes. All the new downloadable files will be in black and white so that anyone will be able to print them with little ink loss per user. This will also keep the size ratio very small and the menu will still be able to be edited. Most users will have an idea of what you serve, so pictures will not be ncessary for a downloadable menu.
8.13.09: Unavailable until after NOON. I will be updating the following: NUTRITION PAGE (with additional items sent via email); and ABOUT US/CATERING content if available. I will be finishing the installation of the PHP based SEARCH locator and also starting on the MENU system (FLASH BASED). UPDATES: Nutrition page updated per email. PM: ADDED to the HEADER the following items (these can be seen on all the new pages, but specifically at index.html: PizzaKidz logo (I looked online and did not see another "logo" or "trademarked" concept such as this. So, for now I've pulled it as a usuable option for the kids section. The page pizzakidz.html has been set up as well. Since the sign information is now going to include NAME, EMAIL, PHONE, BIRTHDAY and GENDER, a new page has needed to be set up, and the original email sign up on the main page has now become a CLICK LINK to the SIGN UP PAGE. The sign up page is at signup.html. This section of the header is done in FLASH.
8.17.09:Added pages for careers.html, contactus.html, and created linkable footer for all the pages. Sent email to SUE for the following items: ABOUT US (History, or such of the business) and CATERING information. Updated the hours on the storehours.html page. Worked through the initial phase of the menu page (menu.html). Updated the CSS for this accordian programming so that it would match our color set, and tested to be sure that it would allow for graphical menu items. Will need to figure out how we're going to showcase our menu items (I already set up the different categories, but not sure if we're going to do actual priced out menu items or not).
8.18.09:Out at an onsite computer repair request from 10am - 1pm*. *Revised to 330pm. Will be out tomorrow 8.19.09 in the morning until 12 Noon at the same repair request finishing. Worked on the menu system today/tonight. Set the sections of the menu items - PIZZA, TOUR, HEALTHY MEALS (GLUTEN), SALADS, SANDWICHES, FISH DINNERS, DESSERTS. Updated the PPP.css to adapted to the Menu system. MIDNIGHT - Finished up the menu system. There's ONE stray ")" that i'm trying to debug, but other than that, the entire REGULAR menu has been retyped and inserted into this menu system. There are NO SPECIALS listed in this menu system other than the GLUTEN FREE specials. Site page: menu.html
8.19.09:Updated Site page: menu.html. Changed orange bar to a pale green, made GLUTEN Products a sep section, Healthy Smart Menu a sep section, Finished Salad Section, Specials/Deluxe (in pizza section) completed.
8.20.09:Updated the menu page, changed the bar color to a mint pale green, finished the VIEW OUR TOPPINGS tooltip and completed the menu page. Downloaded the files from the email from Sue.
8.23-24.09:Finished, uploaded and inserted the main page rotating image set. Corrected footer CSS, edited out external CSS that was causing problems with the overall site. Removed abstract coding from the background of the html files (removed that from the main .css file). Fixed all footer files. Inserted additional HOME icon. Updated the SIGNUP button - added the JOIN OUR EMAIL CLUB section on the button, and moved the PizzaKids on the header over, and enlarged.
